The Clarendon County Fire Department provides fire protection and any other emergency service deemed by public demand for the residents of Clarendon County, South Carolina, excluding the municipality of the City of Manning. The department has a coverage area of 602 square miles and serves a permanent population of 32,500. Our department covers 34 miles of Interstate 95, which bisects our county, from mile marker 100 to mile marker 134. We are also responsible for coverage of 175 square miles/110,000 acres of Lake Marion and the 3,800 acre Santee National Wildlife Refuge.
Our department consists of 15 Stations housing 22 Engines, 1 Ladder, 3 Rescues, and 5 Brush Trucks, manned by 20 career and 100 volunteer firefighters.
